Trip to Chennai
Took a 10-day trip to Chennai since it is more than a year since I visited , and also to arrange for Raghav's thread ceremony. ( Raghav is my nephew, and my son's thread ceremony was done 9 years ago). But parents had almost finalized the hall before I went and the main reason I booked tickets was to see many halls. But, I finalized the one my parents had seen, and I did some other cermeony related work too.
There was a planned family get-together on the Saturday a week after I reached. Saw a lot of relatives that day, which was good.Of course, got to spend 10 days with my parents too after more than 4 months.
Did not travel far or meet friends in this trip except for accidentally meeting one friend who lives in the same street. Got a lift from him in the car and spent a few moments with him.
Only long distance travel I did within the city was to visit my plot and seeing my plot numbered stones after a long time .
One of the things I feel like mentioning about the trip is food overdose ! First my mother pampers me with delicious food and then snacks and coffeee after meals and then soup and then post lunch snacks and then pre-dinner eats and so on and so forth. Had outside food many days, since one day was mom's birthday, another was the family get together and another one , a recce for that and my usual dinnner date with my brother-in-law who invites me for dinner every time I go to Chennai. Tried hard but the food over dose was unavoidable.
Another funny (in hindsight ) things was the sight of ubiquitous frogs in the house. Looks like the baby ones enter the house by mistake and for whatever reason starts climbing on the walls. Killed 3 of them, but later spared a couple since I started feeling guilty about that . Animal kimgdom representatives available in my parent's house / compound which I saw: Hens, cocks, lizard, dormouse and a lot of frogs !
Would have left on 9th day of amy arrival, but heeded my mom who said I should not leave on the 9th day and so I left on the 10th day!
